FAQ's

1.

Q: What is a pediatrician?

A: A pediatrician is a medical doctor who specializes in the care of children. Pediatricians have undergone special training in the health and illnesses of infants, children, and teens. The majority of pediatricians  are certified by the American Board of Pediatrics after passing a comprehensive exam.

2.

Q: Can I meet my pediatrician before my baby is born?

A: Yes, in fact we strongly encourage prenatal visits at our office! This is a great way to get acquainted with our office and staff. We will answer any questions regarding our practice and your new baby.

3.

Q: Do Drs. Scott and Aney have hospital privileges at Wythe County Community Hospital?

A: Yes. Our Physicians at Wythe Bland Pediatrics have hospital privileges.

In the event that your child is admitted to the hospital, our physicians will be the ones continuing care.

4.

Q: How often should my child see the pediatrician?

A: Other than sick visits, it is important to schedule well-child care exams regularly. These routine examinations provide the best opportunity to observe the progress of your child's growth and development, perform screening tests, administer immunizations, and to get to know one another. Well-child care visits are strongly recommended as part of preventive pediatric care.

At Well-Child visits, parents can raise questions and concerns about their child's development, behavior, nutrition, safety, and overall well-being.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends this schedule for routine well-check visits:
